Please enjoy a few pictures from our Quarter 2 GMS Eagle Awards breakfast ceremony from Thursday, May 11. It was a wonderful morning of celebration for these amazing scholars and thank you so much to our cafeteria for a beautiful setup and breakfast!
Several scholars volunteered at the Fulton County Museum Saturday morning to help with our annual spring cleaning. They were members of the National Junior Honor Society, the Builders Club, as well scholars from Ms. Gillis' 8th grade Social Studies classes. They did a wonderful job and will each receive a ticket to the Historical Society's annual Ice Cream Social as a thank you!
GMS 8th grade scholars are reading Unbroken: An Olympian’s Journey from Airman to Castaway to Captive (the true story of Louie Zamperini’s life). To mimic Louie’s experience being adrift in the middle of the Pacific Ocean for 47 days, Ms. Lair’s scholars sat in “life rafts” that were the standard size of a WWII life raft (6 ft by 2 ft). Scholars enjoyed finding creative ways to get as comfortable as possible on the life rafts and experienced empathy for the 3 men in the novel who were lost at sea for over a month.
Yesterday we had our GMS Eagle Award Ceremony for Quarter 2 of the 2022-23 year. The scholars and families were able to enjoy a breakfast and were presented with their Eagle Award plaques made by Mr. Jazeboski, one of our GMS technology teachers. It was a wonderful event and a huge thank you to our nutrition/cafeteria staff for the amazing set up! We are very proud of these amazing scholars!
