We are thrilled to announce an inspiring collaboration between the Gloversville Middle School Art Department scholars and teachers and the esteemed Caroga Arts Collective for their 2024 season. This partnership marks a significant milestone as our carefully crafted poster design has been chosen to grace the cover of the 2024 Caroga Lake Music Festival (CLMF) Program Book. Moreover, this masterpiece will be available for purchase at Gloversville Middle School and various Caroga Arts events throughout the upcoming summer season.
This initiative presents a unique educational opportunity for our scholars, offering them a hands-on experience with the commercial aspects of art. Beyond honing their creative skills, they will delve into the intricacies of merchandising and the sale of promotional materials, thereby broadening their understanding of the art world.
What makes this collaboration even more special is the challenge presented to our scholars: incorporating the promotion of three endearing bird characters, as requested by Kyle Barrett Price, the Founder, Artistic & Executive Director of Caroga Arts Collective. This request pays homage to the beloved narrative of Louie the Loon and his adventures on Caroga Lake. Last summer, Caroga Arts reintroduced this heartwarming tale during a children's concert, and it will once again take center stage this year with a full orchestral performance. The original score, composed by the talented trio of Julian Muller, Kyle Price, and Brian Shank, will be brought to life by the orchestra, adding another layer of enchantment to the narrative.
This collaboration not only showcases the artistic prowess of our students but also fosters a deeper connection with the community and the arts. We are immensely proud of our scholars and grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful endeavor.
