Park Terrace was fortunate enough to have a residency with the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company during October. Professional dancers worked with our second graders to learn about dance and movement. The photos below show some highlights from the performance they gave to the school last week. On November 1st, the dance company returned to present a professional dance performance which incorporated number concepts like odd and even, addition, subtraction and probability. The photos below show some highlights from their performance.

Park Terrace October Scholars of the Month: RESPECT
During October, each class learned more about being respectful and also about being an active learner through PBIS and Second Steps instruction.
Scholars who demonstrated outstanding respectfulness during the month of October were recognized during a special assembly yesterday. Congratulations!
In November, the scholars will focus on learning more about safety in school.

The Glove City Youth Coalition would like to invite you to help celebrate Red Ribbon Week by wearing red on Monday, October 30th. This year’s theme is “Be Kind To Your Mind, Live Drug Free”.

Dear Park Terrace Families,
Halloween is right around the corner! This year we will have our annual Halloween Parade and Fall Festival on Tuesday, October 31st. The parade will begin at 9:15 am with our scholars exiting the front doors and parading around the building on the sidewalk. They will reenter the building at E door. I encourage family members to attend the parade portion of the day. Please stand on the pavement, along the sidewalk and cheer as the scholars walk by. To ensure the safety of all our scholars, adults should not wear a costume, mask, or face paint.
On October 31st, please send your child to school with their Halloween costume already on over regular clothing. After the parade, they may take their costume off to enjoy the classroom activities more comfortably. School appropriate costumes should not have toy weapons, face masks, or face paint. Our school community includes very young children so scary or gory costumes should be avoided.
Please reach out with any questions!
Mrs. Benjamin
