Dear Gloversville School Community:
Due to a number of recent positive COVID-19 cases among our secondary staff, and the subsequent need for other staff members to quarantine, we are shifting our Gloversville Middle
School and Gloversville High School programs (6th -12th grade) to fully remote learning starting tomorrow, Thursday, February 4, 2021, and will remain so through Friday, February 12, 2021.
Boulevard Elementary School is set to reopen to in-person instruction on Monday, February 8,
2021. Kingsborough and Park Terrace Elementary Schools will remain open to in-person
instruction, unless circumstances warrant a change. Our hope is that all of our schools will be
back in session when we return after winter break on Monday, February 22, 2021.
All of our out of district programs will be in session at their respective locations as usual unless
you are notified otherwise. Transportation will continue to be provided for those students.
We are committed to being open for instruction in every school building when possible and will
continue to strategically transition in and out of remote learning as necessary. We acknowledge that these disruptions are confusing and frustrating for students, families and staff, but remain committed to offering the best education we can to the deserving children of this community.
Our sincere hope is that we will continue to see a steady decline in infection rates and the upheaval to our educational programming will diminish along with the virus.
Please contact your building principal with any questions or concerns regarding this letter.
Sincerely,
David Halloran
Superintendent of Schools
