The High Altitude Club has planned a trip to ITS (Innovative Testing Solutions) on October 28th. ITS is an Aerospace and Engineering testing company located in Schenectady. This opportunity will allow them to see real life aerospace and engineering operations first hand.

John Calabrese was actively involved in the Huskies program until he was diagnosed with ALS. On Oct 16th, a walk was held in support of John, the team all came out to show their support and appreciation. Head Coach Jim Robare presented him with a football signed by the players.

Mrs. VanNostrand’s 3rd grade class worked hard to be investigators during our recent science unit of Weather. Students worked in teams to classify different picture cards into categories. They were able to determine the criteria for each category and also give it a title.

Author, wilderness educator, and story teller, Jim Bruchac, visited sixth and seventh graders at GMS to share stories of his Abenaki culture on October 15.
Today is Thankful Thursday at GHS. Students were provided sidewalk chalk and asked to write down what they are thankful for. Check it out!
The GHS Scitamard Drama Club rehearses for their upcoming play “10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse”, by Dan Zolidis. Performances will be November 4-7, 2021. Viewing opportunities will be announced soon!

Visiting the local firehouse helped second graders at Kingsborough Elementary to understand the important role of these community workers as the students begin to learn about Economics and Community in Social Studies.
GHS students took part in the statewide Seen Enough Tobacco Day today to underscore the alarming fact that the average age of a new smoker in NYS is just 13 years old. These students shared other facts such as more than 22% of high school-age youth in NYS vape/use e-cigarettes.
